and sounds that await
you.
Tennis Court and Toddler Playground
Energetic guests can enjoy a fast-paced game of tennis on one of our two hard surfaced tennis courts. Most mornings or afternoons you can find guests playing on the courts and picking up a partner to play doubles is easily done. If the tennis court is not occupied, try a little one-on-one at the basketball hoop located at one end of the court, or recruit other guests for a full game.
After breakfast or dinner, many youngsters head to the small enclosed toddler playground where they can build castles in the sandbox, or play house in a miniature log cabin. A large swing set, teeter-totters and a slide are also nearby. Supervision is recommended.

For parents who may want some time to paddle solo or have an outing on their own, child care arrangements may be made at the front desk.
Swimming
Our freshwater lakes are a wonderful way to cool off on those hot sunny days. There is a floating dock a short distance from shore on both lakes. It is an easy paddle or swim to either dock.
Both lakes have sandy beaches, great for digging or building sand castles. Dragonflies, frogs and turtles abound along the shorelines.
Canoeing
Milford
House is at the head
of the Mersey River
watershed. Canoeing
on the Milford lakes
is a wonderful, wilderness
experience.
There is nothing better than an early morning paddle on one of our lakes. Most mornings before breakfast, Geier Lake and Gang Run are perfectly tranquil — an ideal time to see wildlife. If you head out for an evening paddle around dusk, you maybe serenaded by the call of the loon, a chorus of bull frogs or the slap of a beaver's tail.
There are many canoeing options for both the novice and experienced paddlers. Maps of the Milford lakes, routes and beach locations are available at the front desk. The many islands and coves on Geier and Boot Lakes provide shelter from prevailing winds, making Milford House quite a safe canoeing environment.
Croquet
All during the day families with children gather on the front lawn of Milford House which doubles as a croquet court. Brisk games of croquet have been played out front for generations. People of all ages compete while others sit, watch, and comment from the hotel porch.
